You know I wouldnt be the one to gossip and speculate over rumors about artists so I went straight to the source and got a copy of the real Pimp C Interview straight from my girl Julia over at Ozone Magazine.
You already know Pimp C has never been a man to play word games or duck and hide an issue. He’s straight up and real when it comes to beef, his opinions of other artists, the rap game, the industry, record labels and life. So why would anyone expect anything less of him when asked directly to speak on some things. This is man who’s humble with the fans and straight up real, but he doesnt have a reason to hold back when speaking on the other things I’ve mentioned.
So here it is in all it’s glory the official Ozone Magazine Pimp C Interview straight from the source its The Chronicles of Pimp C. And make sure to check out that Ozone Magazine and their upcoming award show in August because they’re pulling no punches and bringing the heat. Click the pic to view the full size page and read the interview!
And if you ask me he’s calling it straight game. Truth is most of these rappers are fake and talking big and faking beefs to sell records. They’re controlled by the game, not controlling the game. Pimp C has always spoke real if you’ve ever heard him speaking. When I met up with him in Tyler he did the same. During his show he stopped and talked straight to the crowd about real business for 20 minutes in the middle of his set. So chances are if you dont feel what he’s saying then you’re one of those fakes he’s calling out.
Update: This one is catching fire so we’ve added the followup interview done by a local ATL radio station with Pimp C to address the firestorm thats been started with this interview before it hardly even hit the streets!
Well it was about a week ago that I brought you the very first episode of Master P Theatre and now Im back with a brand new episode, part II. Yes this series is doomed to continue and pretty funny if you actually take the time to watch it. Doug Benson you might recognize if you’re into comedy and he’s currently competing on the network TV show Last Comic Standing on NBC.
Well he’s once again presenting Master P Theatre, with of course Master P and heres a brief summary of what to expect in Part II.
Now that we all have our smoking jackets on, let us dive right into the first chapter of Master P’s “Black Supaman.” As host Doug Benson finds out, “Even a crackhead can change your life for the better.”
You know I normally dont like to talk down on another man doing his thing so I’ll just try to say this is the best way I can think of. What the fuck are these two thinking and why can’t they just be straight up about it. It’s the rap game and yeah it’s just a game, and its a business. It’s alot like show business and sometimes it is show business. Why can’t these two just put it out there, or can you tell me what you think at least? Am I the only man that saw this cover and thought, DAMN what are these two doing?
These two sell major records in the south, nationwide and damn near worldwide for that matter. Lil Wayne is maybe the most popular artist the south has right now, whether you’re a fan or not and Im not. Baby has been putting together hits for a minute now with Cash Money. But damn what is real talk on this shit can someone tell me?
Maybe you dont realize it but I get a lot of emails with people who want to share their music, most of it on myspace these days since thats the easiest and best way to get it out. I get some mp3’s and then occasionally just meet up with people in the streets who give me CD’s and shit. So I thought I’d setup an Independent Spotlight section or Indie Spotlight so I can share all the unsigned people that are grinding and trying to come up with their music. Here’s just a quick sample of a few for the introduction of this new category.
I got an email just a few weeks ago about a man in Houston trying to do his thing. He goes by the name of Young Trot ‘The Lyrical Genius’ and you can check his page out for a few tracks. As the name would indicate he’s definitely a more lyrically developed rapper but the music sounds good. Hit up his page and listen to some of the tracks and post your opinions in the comments to let him and I know what you think of his music.
Next I’ve got a group of people called Skybridge Entertainment and they’ve got a page where you can check out 3 tracks right now and read some of their thoughts and bio. They’re also out of Houston, we know the H stays deep on the rap game these days. So check their page out and let us know what you think.
I’ll keep it down to 3 this time so that we don’t overload or water down the content and you can check out each of these 3 unique artists. The third is Bottles Belafonte a man out of Broward Country Florida by way of Jamaica. You didnt forget that Florida was part of the dirty did you? Well then don’t sleep on this man as he’s got a page with 4 tracks of unique sound, almost a little reggae hip hop style and definitely worth checking out.
So get a look at these 3 and share your opinions in the comments if you’ve got any. Of course if someone is popular and you guys speak up and let me know that you really like someone then I can take it a little more in depth and get with them for an interview or who knows what, maybe some exclusive or new tracks to listen to or more. So speak up and that includes the haters too!
So you read the title and most of you were like, who the fuck is Johnny Ringo. Yeah I was the same way too until not long ago, but I’ve been checking out some of his work and I have to say I like what I’ve heard and Im looking forward to hearing more from the man. As for right now I’ll introduce him to you with a free track to download and a youtube video of a recent live performance of his.
If you see things like me you already realize that most of the best music out there on the streets comes from people who dont have major deals. So its up to them to grind harder and people like me to pass it along to the fans and you to spread around to your friends what you like. I think you’re going to do that with him.
I’ll be looking to setup an interview soon or some video of the man himself to drop on you in the near future but for now check out the free track to download called ‘SouthSide‘ and then get a look at the video of his live performance and stage mic skills. You can also click on in to read his bio if you’re interested in knowing more about him personally. Read more
I dont really know what to say about this one, you’re just going to have to watch it for yourself. We all know that haters make the world go round, so get your hater game up and see if you can get the biggest hater fan club that you can get. I know I’ve got a fair share of haters, but Im looking to get a lot more in second half of 07 and then at least double that in 08.
Mike Jones is one man who’s got plenty of haters throughout the south as well as the whole USA. So your man is droping a 5 part short video series called “The American Hater” and you can listen to him speak on it in this video. But more than that you can hear the man Money Water$ speak on his journey and the man standing in his way.
So if you havent already downloaded it, you need to go ahead and do the damn thang right now courtesy of Chamillionaire! It’s free and its pretty hot especially considering its free. Sure it’s called a mixtape but it’s really more like an independent album release by Cham to share some music with his fans in between major releases. If theres one man thats really about the music and giving it to the fans it’s Cham when it comes to the rap game. He’s been all about the internet several years ahead of the rest of the rappers that are just now getting their internet game together.
Cham has stepped his net game up again. Most rappers are busy worrying about getting their pimp game up, ice game up or some other kind of bullshit unrelated to the music. Talking about going platinum, but only on a worldwide sales level, many of them never reach it in the US. The track that can speak to that is track 3 ‘Get On My Level.’ This is defintely a good way to start off the mixtape, many of you will like 1 and 2, but me Im skipping straight to three when I start it off.
But it gets better from there with tracks like Track 7 ‘Nothin But Lies’ about people in the rap game not being totally honest about what they’ve really done. With Track 8 alot of you will recognize the music from the UGK ‘International Players Anthem’ single thats in heavy rotation right now.
Again the beat catches my attention for Track 11 ‘ Got A Lot of Options’ I think you’ll know exactly what he means when you hear the track. At the end Im also a fan of Track 22 ‘Famous’ because its not the typical club type track, it just a little bit deeper. But hey overall I can’t complain it’s free and you can download the accopanying dvd to go with it for free as well.
So here we are it’s the 18th and none of us have a copy of Mixtape Messiah 3 that we’ve been waiting on since it was announced about a month ago. I know alot of us were up late last night refreshing chamillionaire.com hoping to see a link to download and spend the night and day listening to some new hot shit, but there was nothing. If you got on at midnight eastern, you got nothing, midnight central in Texas, and nothing again. Midnight all the way out to west coast time and you got nothing again. It was only a little while later suddenly a countdown timer showed up on the site, and now we’re just waiting on Cham.
It looks like 10pm central is the time, the countdown timer has less than 7 hours on it as I type this up, and you can bet soon after it’s available I’ll be posting up a review and let you know whats really good, but you can get it for free so don’t wait on me, grab that shit tonight if you can.
Maybe you’ve heard of DTP records. That’s Ludacris’ squad of artists also known as Disturbing the Peace. Well his latest addition the Playaz Cirle have dropped a new track that is starting to heat up on the streets of the ATL and work its way out through the south. I’ve got the new track and inside it’s the full bio and info on the Playaz Circle so you can learn who they are and what they’re all about if you like what you hear. So here’s the track “Duffle Bag Boy” from the upcoming DTP Compilation “Strength In Numbers”
It’s almost here. Tomorrow is the day the that new Mixtape Messiah 3 is going to drop on Cham’s site for free, that’s right I said free.99, free, that means it doesnt cost anything, did I mention it was free? It’s good to see artists with a real love for the music and want to share it with the fans and Cham is one of those type of artists. So here’s the album cover and a preview of the tracklisting!
