It’s going down and I’ve got a new jam from Yung Texxus off the upcoming mixtape. You know Yung Texxus is doing his thing with the Desert Storm South Crew now. Yeah Im talking about DJ Clue and his southern imprint. They’re making noise and putting out mixtape heat like it’s going out of style. So anyway they got me this short track from an upcoming mixtape and I just knew after listening to it that I had to drop it on all of you. I like the track so it gets a personal endorsement from me, but that doesnt matter, its all about what you want to hear and like. So listen to the track and definitely look out for more from Yung Texxus and the Desert Storm South Crew here on TrillSouth!
What does the Jena 6 really have to do with hip hop is what I’ve been wondering. I write a daily blog on SOHH and often everyday is filled with comments about the Jena 6. I cant help but wonder what it really has to do with hip hop. Sure people with a platform should speak about bigger issues than themselves. It’s part of the responsibility of having the fame, or at least it should be. But the Jena 6 is something else to me, it’s an indication of how far we are from real unity in this country and its not just because of the case, its bigger than that.
The attention drawn to something like this when there are issues out there everyday and people who are more deserving of attention is what makes me wonder. People like to latch onto a popular piece in order to seem relevant and educated but in effect they’re only furthering the thing that they say they’re fighting. Why are we so focused on race, why does everything have to be so black and white, or brown? The ignorance expressed by people who focus on one small difference between humans is not something I care about changing. If you want to hate for my color (and im white) then thats your right and I could care less if you ever want to change it. You can hate me for being white, for being a man, for not being skinny, for religion, or whatever else you might want to hate for it doesnt matter to me.
The Jena 6 will come and go and these people will all find another thing to latch onto for the moment. But the one thing that we need to fight for and that’s human rights is still right here and everywhere and no one see’s past the small differences to fight for the common humanity and thats the real problem. So while you’re out there fighting over differences Im looking at how much we’re all the same and how we can better things as humans, not just for a race, a religion, a sex or whatever other small differences we might have. The Jena 6 isnt hip hop, you’re not hip hop and your black shirt today is only seperating you from the unity you say you’re fighting for.

That’s right Three 6 Mafia is ready to start making noise again. After a little delay and some time in Hollywood with reality TV and awards, the men are back and grinding to get that album ready to drop in December. Just in time for your Christmas collection, if you do that kind of thing. Well here’s a brand new track that’s about to break out on the airwaves and internet and I’ve got it for your first of course. It’s called Like Money. I look and feel and smell like money, look at me dummy!
That’s right the day is finally here. I know you’ve listened to Mixtape Messiah 3 more times than you can count. You’ve watched the free DVD several times as well and seen all the Chamillionaire videos. Well today is finally the day you can go to your local store and have your own Ultimate Victory! So what are you sitting here and reading this for, or are you already listening to it? And you can of course stay tuned to TrillSouth for the official Ultimate Victory album review coming later this week. Enjoy the little video from last nights release party courtesy of Cham and his ChamillionaireTV on YouTube.
Yeah it’s true, Countri Boy and his Keeplock Ent have already parted ways with TVT Records after only 3 months time. It seemed like a good match to start but apparently there were a lot of things that Countri Boy wasn’t happy with and felt he was not getting his due. I’ll let you read the info from the release and you be the judge of whether or not this was a smart move for yourself.
Dallas, TX - New York based label Keeplock Entertainment Inc., home to Dallas MC Countri Boi have parted ways after just 3 months being signed with the nation’s number one independent label. Reasons by the artists’ camp are cited as a lack of label support which they felt would be detrimental to Countri Boi’s burgeoning career. The two companies mutually parted ways after undisclosed incidents led to Keeplock Entertainment’s request to negate their contract with TVT.
Several other label situations have already been offered to the camp, who have made Countri Boi aka King of the ‘D’ a featured artist at all of the recent Dallas industry events - Texas Summer Music Conference, Core DJ Retreat, Dallas etc. Countri Boi has already appeared on MTV’s Sucker Free show and BET’s Rap City as a result of those events and has also been featured in Vibe, Hip Hop Weekly, Ozone Magazine, The Dallas Post Tribune and many websites including AllHipHop and the Dr. Teeth directed video for the remix of his single “I’m a Boss / Hey” will be coming to a video show near you shortly.
I just thought I’d drop this little gem of a video on you from last Friday night when Chamillionaire performed live on Late Night with David Letterman. Definitely one of the better live performances that I’ve seen and I shared it on here as well as my SOHH blog. Check out the video and try to tell me that Cham didn’t kill it and that Slick Rick wasn’t looking like a mack? Hip Hop Police was the first single off the Ultimate Victory album that hits stores tomorrow and iTunes tonight at midnight if you can’t wait. I know I’ll be logging in tonight and downloading my copy !
Whats up it’s been a minute now but I finally got it done. Just a few quick questions that I shot at Young Bleed right before his album dropped. So the album is now out, actually hit your locals stores last week on the 11th and I copped my copy that night and have been listening steady since then.
With all that said the album definitely delivers if you’ve been a Young Bleed fan since back in the day or are just hearing him for the first time you’ll be pleased. The album features a lot of hot collabos, including ones with 8 Ball, C-Bo, Money Waters and plenty more. Old school and new school combine on this one and you dont even have to skip around, you can listen straight through from begining to end.
So here are the quick questions I shot at Young Bleed, check them out and post some comments and let me know if you’ve already heard the album or if you’re going to pick it up. Read it and then check out Once Upon A Time In Amedica at your local store or iTunes!

I see people talking about this lately and saying that they’re getting ready to drop this little mixtape on everyone in advance of the Black Flag album. Well in case you didnt know, and they obviously dont know, this mixtape has been out for a minute now. So instead of you going to all these other sites that just copy and paste shit from one site to the next, how about I hook you up with the real shit right here.
Here’s the mixtape, it’s Rick Ross, the Carol City Cartel which is his group. The mixtape is the Black Flag Prequel and it’s got all the grimy Florida shit that you’ve been enjoying for the past year. Florida is coming up real fast right now and hopefully they’ll go ahead and push the ATL off the map and we can get past this ringtone rap bullshit. Enjoy the mixtape!
Yeah this isnt really southern hip hop but considering how popular Wayne is with the ladies I figured I’d throw up the brand new video and let you all peep it. I dont think I like the song at all personally, but what do I know anymore in this days rap game. So yeah I dont have a lot to say about this one, you can just watch and let everyone know if you like it or not. Do you want to see more Wayne features, or would you rather see him in his own shit, or are you like me and just not wanting to see more of him at all?
