Check out a little colabo thats going down between two Houston heavyweights in the rap game. Im talking about Trae and Rob G with an upcoming project and this track ‘Black & Brown’ is a representation of the whole effort in many ways. Here’s a little press release type info and the track itself.

This morning checking out the net I came across this little tweet to twitter which Im sure many of you are familiar with. The text is pretty clear, but what isnt clear totally is exactly what happened or who did it. Was it random? Were there guns involved? Was he targetted by someone specifically?

Lets hope this isnt just the latest in his stream of publicity stunts to get more attention for trying to increase his album sales. I may not like the little homies music but I dont wish him any harm. This was posted all over the net from his account at almost 8 am eastern time and he’s got a lot of followers that read it. Hopefully its not a publicity stunt starting and or worse he’s not injured. You speak about how you feel about it. Ill follow up if more news drops.

So the question of the week and something I posed the possibiltiy of earlier was what will happen when SouljaBoy’s sales stop? Well it looks like this might be the week. In a huge selling week for the industry or what should be around the holiday season. SouljaBoy dropped his new album and pushed it on YouTube hard with the so called ‘Platinum In a Week’ campaign of his. Followed by a bullshit AP video where he’s speaking about being a better role model and not doing the dumb shit he’s been doing in the past. Well that was just a marketing ploy to try and sell more albums and it looks like its all going to blow up in his face. So stay tuned for what could be an interesting time for SouljaBoy and his fast rise and maybe even faster fall. The word right now is he may only sell in the 30 to 40,000 album range this opening week. Not horrible, but nowhere near what was expected.

I dont even know what to say about this one. Will it go platinum as fast as he claims its going to on his YouTube videos? Or will this album go bust faster than DMX catches another charge? You can tell me what you think. One thing I know is that he’s hyped this album more than anything he’s ever hyped and you cant blame the kid. You would do the same if it was your project. So Im not going to hate on SouljaBoy no matter how horrible I think his music is, or how stupid I think the things he says and does are. He’s just trying to get money and grinding like the rest of us. So is this album going to flop or blow up?

I dont know how many of you are paying attention but that boy SPM is still dropping some heat on Texas from behind the prison walls. If you’re a fan then you’re loving it, but if you’re not then I’d like to know why. Lets keep this about the music because thats all that matters to me when it comes to SPM. Story telling rap has fallen off from what it used to be but you can bet an SPM track is going to tell a story 9 times out of 10. This album ‘The Last Chair Violinist’ is no different than in the past, but maybe with a few more collabos.

This was a double album released just a few weeks ago in case you werent paying attention. 29 tracks in all and was selling on iTunes at the time for only $13.99. I copped it because getting in touch with someone at Dope House these days seems impossible. Its not from all the attention, its just they arent staying on top of this shit the way they should be, and they’re all off doing their own thing half the time. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard SPM speak. He’s mostly been able to write a little here and there and released one album while locked up. Well it seems theres a lot of hype surrounding another new release of his thats scheduled to drop in November according to Dope House Records. This time they got out a little audio and well I admit Im a fan of SPM rhymes it seems like for getting some audio out to the streets from jail he wasted a lot of the chance he had to say something. Thats a shame, but thats how it goes so check out the audio.

So TI earned himself another debut at the top of the Billboard 200 with ‘Paper Trail.’ He sold 568,000 copies going gold in his first week.
