Yep I predicted it and was pretty close on my guess at the sales number. He actually sold less than I was predicting.

Rick Ross easily debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with “Deeper Than Rap” (Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam), shifting 158,000 in its first week. It’s the third topper for the artist. His last set, 2008′s “Trilla,” bowed at No. 1 with 198,000 while 2006′s “Port of Miami” also did the same, but with 187,000.

I was expecting 180,000 or thats what my prediction was. All in all its a decent release, but I think with all the hype and delay he should have been able to get over 200,000 easily. So its going to be interesting to see how sales sustain or if they fall off fast.

So Rick Ross after all the hype and beef drops his album into stores today. Did you buy your copy yet? I saw it was on iTunes last night around 2am and even though Im sort of a fan of Ross music Im not buying this one. It’s way too many features on it for me and he crossed over to mainstream type shit trying to be like Jay Z. I dont want to hear all of those other people sing and shit.

So what do have to say about this release, are you buying it? What are your sales predictions? I think Ill surprise you with mine. This album was truly hyped for months and I think its going to end up #1 but I think the sales will be disappointing. Im thinking were looking at 150,000 units moved in the first week and with as much hype as this shit got he should be doing 500,000 but he wont.

Thats right the final UGK album dropped into stores starting at midnight last night and I grabbed my copy of iTunes as soon as it went on sale. Im laying out today and not going to post much. I will be posting a review of the album soon and be prepared if I dont love everything about it.

I bought it without thinking twice because UGK has been about something for a long time now. Thats something most of these industry lames can’t claim. I hope all of you buy the album and put it on repeat and just listen and break it down. Dont just nod your head and not listen to whats being said. Thats one thing about a UGK album you could break it down after listening multiple times and find layers of different things being said that speak the truth about life, music, or just a lot of things that we all go through.

So dont wait for the review from me get that album today and then post your thoughts in the comments. Tell me what tracks you like. Tell me how you feel about this being the last UGK album. Show some respect and love for those that do more than just use the word Trill, show it for those that live it. Anyway can say it but not everyone is living it. There were groups before UGK and there will be plenty after but this is the group that represented for Texas like no other. It’s UGK 4 Life!

I dont even announce album releases much anymore but I’ve caught up with Thug a few times in the past couple years and his release is a big one for the southern hip hop scene. He’s got real shit on there and real artists like Devin the Dude or UGK, but theres plenty more. I may even write up a review but I wanted to remind you to get into the store and grab this shit today. You already know that TrillSouth has been supporting the homies Play N Skillz for more than a minute now. IRVING – Local rap duo Play*N*Skillz sit inside the sleek recording studio on the second floor of a rented house smack-dab in the middle of an affluent, gated community. The two brothers, Juan “Play” and Oscar “Skillz” Salinas, are dressed in predominantly red garb. Skillz likes his bling: earrings, watch, bracelet, silver ring. Play keeps his red cap tilted to one side of his head.

Play, 28, is the mouthpiece of this duo. His tone is authoritative; he’s got plenty to say and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Younger sibling Skillz, 26, has a shy demeanor and the huskier voice. He mostly nods a lot, piping in every so often.

The club DJs turned rappers are red-hot right now. They’ve won two Grammy Awards as rap producers, the first for Houston rapper Chamillionaire’s hit “Ridin’” in 1997 and the most recent for Lil Wayne’s megaseller Tha Carter III, for which Play*N*Skillz co-wrote and produced the smash single, “Got Money.” They were recently spotlighted during a special program titled Dallas Week on MTV.
