So you read the title and most of you were like, who the fuck is Johnny Ringo. Yeah I was the same way too until not long ago, but I’ve been checking out some of his work and I have to say I like what I’ve heard and Im looking forward to hearing more from the man. As for right now I’ll introduce him to you with a free track to download and a youtube video of a recent live performance of his.
If you see things like me you already realize that most of the best music out there on the streets comes from people who dont have major deals. So its up to them to grind harder and people like me to pass it along to the fans and you to spread around to your friends what you like. I think you’re going to do that with him.
I’ll be looking to setup an interview soon or some video of the man himself to drop on you in the near future but for now check out the free track to download called ‘SouthSide‘ and then get a look at the video of his live performance and stage mic skills. You can also click on in to read his bio if you’re interested in knowing more about him personally.
Johnny Ringo Bio
In the movie Tombstone , Johnny Ringo was known as the gambler who sold his soul to the Devil. In the world of Hip-Hop Johnny Ringos soul is not for sale, as much as it is on display. Thanks to his uncanny lyricism, brutal honesty and humble upbringing Johnny Ringo is bound and determined to leave his mark on the game. Murder, kilo distribution and bling have become mainstays modern day rap music; Ringos rhymes are a refreshing throw back to the glory days of the art form when an MC was judged by the content of his material and ability to move the crowd. Early on, that stage-owning ability was honed as a member of a Dallas-based trio known as Flytrap. N.I.C., LoDeezy and the “White Boy” wasted no time blazing a unique trail all their own. In the span of 10 short months, the Trap got down with several music industry heavyweights: Carlos “6 July” Broady(Biggie,Nas), Mike Jones, Ice T and Paul Wall. Amicably, Flytrap disbanded around the fall of 2004. No group, no problem. Ringo went out on his own with the intent to slay every track that lay in his path. The problem was that Dallas Hip-Hop is but a sad mirror image of the wildly popular Houston Hip-Hop scene. In search of an artistic rebirth armed with a notepad and an indomitable spirit, Ringo headed westward in search of some California Love. Working with producer Aqua(Jay-Z,Tony Yayo), 600,000+ Myspace plays, 12,000+ views from a live concert on Youtube, being featured on mixtapes from DJs all over the U.S and Canada and an array of new bangers later, Johnny Ringo is poised to let the world see just what D-A-double-L-as Is!
