ATL vs TX or Trill vs Fake?

Author: DigiPimp | Filed under: Opinion

wack fake rapperWhen Pimp C spoke up in his interviews last week its as if he opened a whole can of worms. Is there a battle brewing in the south between the ATL and Texas, or is it just hype? I know personally Im not a fan of most of the music or the style that comes out of the ATL and believe me Im a fan of plenty more than just Texas rap. I like alot of what goes on in the east coast and actually grew up listening to west coast rap from the Bay to LA and loved it all. But something about this ATL rap and the style of music, I just can’t feel it or get into it.

I think Pimp directed alot of his attention at the ATL for a reason and even with an apology, he didnt apologize for the bulk of what he said and he stands by it today the same as the day he said it. Of course the ATL is part of the south and we all knew that regardless of what he originally said but he spoke on bigger things that got missed by a shitty interview that was all gossip and hype.

Pimp spoke on the game that is the music industry. Rappers trying to be someone their not, fakes claiming things they’ve never done, rap without any substance. It’s great to have a party song, or a song to get the club moving, but if 100% of what you’ve done has no substance, that speaks for itself. If you’re throwing out the talk then you better be able to back it up and walk it, not just talk it. So is a rap beef, battle or whatever you want to call it brewing between the ATL and Texas, could it make things elevate and get better or could it be a bad thing? Dont you at least like my pic of a wack wannabe rapper?

It ain’t really no beef, but either way if people don’t like what’s coming out of Atlanta they shouldn’t buy or listen to it and worry about what’s coming out of their own city, A lot of these rappers aren’t really from Atlanta, like Soulja Boy he’s from Mississippi he just laid claim to the A so he would get played and a lot of the reason Atlanta music gets played is because a lot of people move here from all over the country and they spread whats hot here to their people elsewhere, it’s not like we tried to start a movement and get the spotlight, they put it on us and even if we weren’t hot we would still be doing our own thing, we don’t try to be like any other part of the country, as for the writer of this article I can’t get into all of Texas’s artist myself, you don’t like snap, I don’t like chopped and screwed, you all want to be hard but we enjoy ourselves and live for today, so if you don’t like Atlanta’s music, oh well, and this hate that’s coming out of Texas is going to propel New York back to being the hot spot for hip hop, Atlanta has showed much love to Texas and you all feel the need to hate, we never said a lot of this music was hip hop, it’s club music and we have no control over if the radio station’s play it or not and if you can come up with a style that will make Texas artist sell more than Atlanta do your thing, no hate here, people saying we aint rapping about shit, hell how many songs can you make about the ghetto, drugs, hoes and money and Ldacris made ‘Runaway Love’ wih Mary J. Blidge, and he’s from Atlanta, that was a real song and if you have a sister or daughter you might can relate to it, what song came out of Texas that stressed a real topic that almost everyone can relate to ?????, I don’t know so if Texas is so real tell me what are you rapping about that hasn’t been rapped about before by artist all over the country.

I think the majority of the cats missed the point Pimpo C was makin. There is no ATL vs TX beef. I repeat, there is no ATL vs. TX beef. What Pimp said is, he knows the real cats from Atlanta. Just like someone said previously, Pimp is down with the Goodie Mob, Outkast, Organized Noise. You know the cats who are from there and didn’t move their to boost their rap career. Tx cats know these are the true hip hop artist out of Atlanta. But what Pimp spoke on is true. Before Outkast and Goodie mob people in ATL were scared to be country or South. They was wearing Timbos and backpacks. The people who dispute that are just too young to know that because A, they were not inATL at the time or B, they were in kindergarten and not old enough to know what was going down in the A. Tx got much luch but what folks fail to realize, you can’t sell records without moving Texas. Not saying that TX is the hip hop brainchild but because of the sheer number (population) or people if you rock Texas, you will be succesful. Ask any CEO of any record label and they will tell you the same, cats gotta buy your music in Texas. Thats one reason Texas artist are successful and still regional. UGK garnered a lot of succes by moving Tx and that made them go Gold alone. Many artist cannot guarantee that their state will make them go at least gold bythemselves. They need several states just to do that. So to all the ATL people, Tx got much love for you cuz we are buying your records. So lets get off the boo boo and Keep It Trill.
