So the Ozone Awards have come and gone. I was damn near in attendance but decided to pull out less than a week before the event. It seems like as usual in this industry there is an overwhelming amount of attention paid to beef, rumors, gossip and fights. It also seems that the Ozone Awards weren’t short on any of that this year and thats a same. However I cant help but wonder if it’s just over exaggerated or was it really that bad. On top of that why is there so much hate for Julia Beverly, is it because she’s white? Do you have an opinon because I see the stories and emails starting to mount on the hip hop sites. I even received a letter to my email this morning to be passed around sharing some of the outrage at Julia. I’ll post it later today and let you decide what you think of it.
I’ll tell you I’ve only met JB once and it wasnt at an event. She was friendly and she’s always been fast to get back to me in emails. I like what Ozone has done and I’ve been well aware of her for several years through another hip hop site that was central to Houston. I cant help but wonder if this isnt a little extra hate just at her being white and I know thats not hip hop. JB get at me if you’ve got something to say because at this moment Im feeling like Im on your side. It’s quite possible this event was bigger than even they were ready for and it just got out of hand because unlike Florida or some other state, Texas really is what southern hip hop is all about. We arent all about that snappin, popping and booty bouncing, we stay trill down here and you best keep it real when you’re down here!

Well First off I am a local artist in the Orlando area i’ve done a lot of work here locally. But i am not surprised reading this information..i can remember when ozone first started as the Orlando Source and its common knowledge in the O that the O really dosent see Ozone as our flagship magazine. When they started it was about (or seemed to be about) the indie artist and attracting light to the Orlando music scene The first ozone (orlando source)awards was all indie from all over as well..the longer Ozone goes the farther they get away from what they claim to be offering..I’ve also had the luxury (lol) of meeting JB we were invited to one of her events and got the cold shoulder upon our return now yes we are not major lable artist but if you reach out and invite someone to perform @ your venue the least we should get is some respect. Also I have made several attempts to Ozone in reference to the Orlando music scene and my contributions but always recieve no response..hmm now the pages of this mag is plasterd with pics hafl interviews and main stream artists..Yes the ycan help sell your mag but who wants to by another publication wit hthe same stories and artists? and how can u call yourself “O”-ZONE and fail to highlight the Orlando Scene? but i’ll be damned if the westcoast dont ge theres lmao I got love for the west but shit How would you feel with a H-TOWN MAGAZINE OR WESTCOAST MAGAZINE putting other regions and is hon the map but nothing fro mthe grassroots? they should call themselves ZONE magazine cause Orane County Florida dont get no love from them….Also Julia has the ame reputaiton as when she started this thing so if its been the same rep continuously from different sources most not even related then one has to ask is it true? well n oyou dont have to ask cause it speaks for itself…Its sad to at the same time cause the Orlando scene has alot of talent to offer but we get no help from foundation media outlets/local radio/ all the pleasurantes other regions recieve such as NY,ATL,MIA,HOUSTON…so JB did it to herself…If she dont get her a55 on track with the O then she will have no foundation to fall on…And thats just keeping it real Straight from the Hometown streets..I like to see Houston and other areas support each other that shits real and real hip hop..I went to ATL for 1yr and got 300% more love and opportunities than i ever recived in my own streets Orlando and i been here for 24yrs and i am connected with a lot of minimajor players..Everyone down here is forself and cancel out the regions success by keeping that BS up. Plus hell bring the Ozone back to the O..and that’s f’d up to wit hthe PIMP C tribute…we probably dont even wont yall a55 back after that…yeah Ozone get outta here..real stand up Zone Magazine…Hoe sit down
