Birdman ’100 Million’ Video

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Uncategorized

It was only a few days ago that I talked about the anticipation around this video. There was a trailer and alot of talk about what the Birdman was going to do. Well now the video is here and I dont know if you’ll feel like me, but Im disappointed. I’ll let you be the judge like I do with everything else. It’s only one mans opinion, but mine is not a good one. I’ll admit Im not a Birdman fan to start with, so that might influence me a bit. But Im also tired of songs about nothing but money, jewelry and cars, of which Birdman has done plenty of.

So enjoy the video and share your thoughts. It’s full of plenty of guest features such as Young Jeezy, Dre, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Of course theres also a little of DJ Khaled who’s screaming of ‘We the best’ is sure to drive you crazy one way or another.

Smitty Interview

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Interviews

smittyWhats up people it’s another Monday and Im about to set it off with a real good interview that I did not too long ago. This interview is with Smitty. I know you might be wondering who that is and what he’s about, but trust me after the interview you’ll realize that you already know plenty of his work and you’ll want to check out a lot more. He’s got some real hot music that’s hitting the streets, airwaves and probably before too long you’re tv.

So with that said check out the interview and the track and let everyone know what you think. You can always post comments as Im sure he’ll be checking them out and likes to hear what the fans have to say. So stay on top of things and be prepared to hear plenty more about Smitty on TrillSouth in the near future.

Witchdoctor ‘The Barrell’

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: News

witchdoctor dungeon familyNow here’s some shit that I know you most likely haven’t heard. Im talking about a new track from the Witchdoctor out of the ATL. His album dropped recently, titled ‘The Diary Of An American Witchdoctor’ and its not getting alot of press but is surprisingly real and deep. I think you’ll like what you hear in this track which features an appearance by The Wheeler Brothers. It’s a little of that real shit that Atlanta has, that you just dont see on MTV or BET. It’s not some snapping and dancing bullshit, it’s real street stories. Enjoy the track and hit the comments back for more of that real shit.

Mike Jones ‘Drop It’ feat Hurricane Chris

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Flows

mike jones drop itSo it’s Friday the day after Thanksgiving and I thought I’d take a moment to discuss Mike Jones. Well in case you didnt realize it, this past Tuesday the ‘American Dream’ EP and movie dropped into stores and here we are just a few days later and his people are pushing a new track not even from that album, but from a new one scheduled for next year.

So what happened to Mike Jones? Why did he fall off so fast and why has the label lost confidence in him? Was it a case of him being a Houston hip hop head and getting it because of the people around him, or did he really deserve his shot? Listen to the track and decide for yourself if bigger things are coming or if it’s over for Mr Jones.

Chamillionaire ‘Mixtape Messiah 4′

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Mixtapes

mixtape messiah 4Thats right Chamillionaire has announced that “Mixtape Messiah 4″ is coming and it’s coming in less than one month. The announced date as of right now is December 18, and thats a store release date. Yeah he’s releasing it into stores, so that means it should be for sale and not a free download this time. Hopefully it’s better than 3 because I wasn’t feeling 3, although I know many of you were. So stay tuned as I get my hands on more news and hopefully an interview with Cham in the near future!

Mike Jones ‘Drop It’ Snippet

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: News

mike jones drop itSo we know that Mike Jones dropped an EP on us just this week and it appears they’ve already moved on to a new project. How does that work is what Im wondering. Do you not even promote the stuff thats just hitting the stores, is there a dispute that keeps it from making money? Anyway his people are now pushing a snippet of a song with Hurricane Chris featured, it’s titled ‘Drop It’ and is going to be on the new project slated for release next year.

Check out this pic, it’s from a Mike Jones video shoot, so are we about to see a ‘Drop It’ video? It certainly appears as though we might and maybe they’ll do this project right. You can click on the pic and listen to the snippet of the new track from the upcoming ‘The Voice Of The Streets’ album.

Mike Jones ‘American Dream’

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: News

mike jones american dreamDamn I noticed late last night that with very little fanfare there was a Mike Jones ‘American Dream’ EP for sale on iTunes. But thats only the begining of what I was about to find out. It turns out that it’s only 7 tracks and selling for only $6.99. So what happened, where is Mike Jones?

This piece was pushed back several times and now we got a 7 track EP with a DVD. Where is the full version, what happened, why isnt it out and why was it pushed back so many times. Is the work not done, is there a conflict with the label? The only thing I’ve heard so far is that it was changed and pushed this way because the label didnt have confidence in your boy and his sales potential. So stay tuned and we’ll see whats really going down.

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Flows

chamillionaireI’ve got the latest track to start hitting the airwaves off the Chamillionaire album. It’s “Wont Let You Down” featuring Slim Thug, Lil KeKe, Mike Jones, Trae, Bun B, Z-Ro, Pimp C and Paul Wall. Those are quite a few big names, thats all Texas on the remix track, check it out. If you’ve heard the original and liked it, then this is bigger and better, it’s Texas style of course it has to be big. Cham is going hard and he’s also got a little bit of news coming real soon and something dropping into your local stores next month that I’ll talk about in a few. For now though enjoy the track.

Big Red Rooster Live Review & Video

Written by: DigiPimp | Filed under: Videos

It was just this past Sunday night and TrillSouth was on the scene to catch up with the guys from The Big Red Rooster as they performed at Club Ivy in downtown Dallas. Already having met the guys a couple of times the enviroment was as relaxed and easy going as could be. Aside from the music that you’re about to hear, the guys are some of the most down to earth and easy going as you’ll find anywhere. With a diverse sound and the backing of Play N Skillz production its no doubt that things are headed in the right direction.

I’ll admit I had only heard a couple of tracks and had seen the ‘How You Like That’ video featuring Slim Thug that was shot in Dallas at Suite (also the site of the Play N Skillz Halloween Bash.) So I wasnt totally sure what to expect. The performance was live, the video a little dark because it had to be moved from the rooftop. So the performance came off in the lounge which wasn’t lit very well, because it wasnt meant to be used for performances, but that wasnt anything to stop a show.

The guys came out and the energy quickly built and was maintained throughout the performance. It’s no doubt that big things are coming from the guys in the near future. I know that you’ll be able to stay on TrillSouth for plenty of news and video about the band and their progress from D town representers to nationwide rockstars. Enjoy the live video even though it’s dark, you can hear a track Im sure you’ve never heard from them yet as well as check out the interview and other info already on the site.
