Here’s a little opinion piece I wrote up on SOHH Dirty today, let me know what you think.

So what happened to the Birdman and the massive push on his latest release. He was on MTV, BET, the radio, the internet, fake blooding with Lil Wannabe on all kinds of media spots. Where did the sales go. If you didn’t know, the Birdman debuted at #18 with 86,000 units moved. So did you buy the album? What’s your review? Is this success or failure? His video cost more than his album made in sales in the first week, uh oh. If you see the Birdman this time the tears on his face might be real.

What about the pic, is it love at first sight? Bottom line I can’t hate on anyone getting money and doing their thing. I just like to make the people think and talk, and these guys are so popular I expected a lot more.

Yeah it’s more Birdman and I know maybe you’re tired of it. But on the flipside these Cash Money boys have been holding it down for a minute now. I’ll admit there have been a few tracks that I like and they always keep a hot beat for the club. Maybe I don’t buy their shit but I definitely don’t mind it, especially when the ladies move to it real well.

So Birdman is working on dropping that ’5 Star Stunna’ album into stores in just a little under 2 weeks. On December 11th to be exact. So in combination with that he’s got these web videos that are going up on YouTube in the past day to tell you what being a ’5 Star Stunna’ is about and how you can do it too. Some of them are a little over the top, mainly the first and second one, but the rest when he gets into the cars and the hustle arent all that bad. Yep the news is fresh on the wire from last night. Birdman was arrested along with several others in his group and will be facing charges soon. Here’s the story straight off the AP wire.

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) — Rapper Bryan “Birdman” Williams was among 16 people charged with possession of marijuana Tuesday after the RV they were riding in was pulled over by police for making an improper lane change.

Kingsport Police Cpl. Tim Horne said he stopped the vehicle after seeing it force a tractor trailer into the emergency lane on Interstate 81. Horne said he could smell marijuana from inside the rented RV and located about a pound of marijuana in a trash can in the kitchenette after obtaining consent to search the vehicle.
Williams, 38, his wife Brittany, 18, and his brother, Ronald Williams, 43, were each charged with possession of more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana as were 13 others, several of whom are also affiliated with the rap industry and Cash Money Records, which was founded by Bryan and Ronald Williams.

Among those arrested were road manager Shahid Muhammad, 40, Cash Money Records promoter Casey Collins, 42, and music promoter Ovide Antoine, 32, of Miami, Fla.

All 16 remained jailed late Tuesday night. It was not known if any of them had an attorney.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is assisting in the investigation because an assault rifle, a handgun and a magazine for a .45-caliber handgun were found on the RV, Horne said. No weapons charges have been filed.

The group said they were traveling from New Orleans to New York for a BET network shoot, Horne said.

Wow Birdman’s wife is 18, thats one of the things I noticed. Another is that marijuana charges usually dont end up with you spending time in prison. But what priors does Birdman have if any? What about the weapons charges, who will they stick those to?

It was only a few days ago that I talked about the anticipation around this video. There was a trailer and alot of talk about what the Birdman was going to do. Well now the video is here and I dont know if you’ll feel like me, but Im disappointed. I’ll let you be the judge like I do with everything else. It’s only one mans opinion, but mine is not a good one. I’ll admit Im not a Birdman fan to start with, so that might influence me a bit. But Im also tired of songs about nothing but money, jewelry and cars, of which Birdman has done plenty of.

So enjoy the video and share your thoughts. It’s full of plenty of guest features such as Young Jeezy, Dre, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Of course theres also a little of DJ Khaled who’s screaming of ‘We the best’ is sure to drive you crazy one way or another.

So you’ve probably already heard about Birdman’s ’100 Million’ video, or at least the music behind it. Well the video isnt out yet but the trailer has started circulating and whether you’re a Cash Money fan or not I think you’re going to like it. Its just a short video but at least it gives you a little preview of whats to come in the near future. You know Birdman had to bring it back to The Carter if you know what I mean!

It’s finally a video and it’s Lil Keke ‘Im A G’ featuring Birdman. It’s about time we see another Keke video and him starting to get a little spotlight on places like BET. These people are acting like he’s brand new, but they dont know what we know about that SUC and DJ Screw. Southside is in the building now and it’s only the begining, we haven’t had the final chapter written. Peep the video and then let BET know that you want to see more of that real shit.
