You know I was ahead of these lames who are on the do it when its cool type shit and posted that Inertia ‘Beddy Crocker’ track months ago. Well now its really starting to gain a little momentum and a video was shot for it recently and I’ve got some new behind the scenes footage for you that just dropped today. Have a look and listen!
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and we all know that I dont put a lot of shit on here. So if you dont get me the music early a lot of times I dont put it on because you can already find it elsewhere and probably already have. Im no dummy and I know that my site isnt the only one that you read. But sometimes the track is from a homie and you gotta share it anyway to show some support for their work. So with that said Im dropping this still pretty new track from the homie Tum Tum on you titled ‘Married To the Game’ featuring some appearances from Slim Thug, Big Tuck and Dallas Blocker. Have a listen, download, share the link and retweet to support real hip hop!
Maaan where my DFW people at today? I know you remember the homies Pookie & Lucci. They been part of the DFW scene for a long time now and they’re still dropping shit on the streets for your ears. This time I caught a little track and a video to go with it for an upcoming project. Have a listen and look.
Alright so I stayed out of it for a minute but today Ricky Ross hopped on the ‘Window Seat’ track from Erykah Badu that’s generating so much drama in the media right now. That gives it a little more southern flavor and an opportunity for me to post it here as it now fits better within the southern rap theme. Maybe a few of you missed it but just the past week Erykah has gotten herself a lot of attention for the guerilla style street video she shot for this track in downtown Dallas. If you havent seen it already its for the nudity as well as the violent image of her being gunned down near the spot where Kennedy was assasinated.
I’d have to say its a shame that more people dont understand her imagery or reasons for making a statement like this. The media is always looking for something to grab on and ride to sensationalize and do little to bring out the real message. I know Badu has always been a conscious type of artist and even though her music has never really been great to my ears I respect artists that are doing something and saying something with a message. Its clear that a lot of people are going to miss the message on this but there are a few of us out there that get it. Its up to us to spread it around and explain it to others.
There really is a group mentality in this country, as well as the world. Its the reason I’ve got the words Straight Jacket tatted on my arms as well. People who are individuals and not part of group thought, trends or identities often end up being viewed as crazy or something worse. So its with that I made my statement in putting a permanent “Straight Jacket” on my arms to show my individuality and to accept being labeled as crazy for being an individual. I embrace it and so does Ms Badu. I respect that and hope some of you learn from it and take it yourself and run with it. Stop being trendy and set trends, stop worrying about everyone else and do you, stop being part of the group and be an individual, an original not an imitation.
Whats good people Im back a second time today with a new track. This time it’s the DFW homie Vahid with a track titled ‘Tell Me What You Think’ and a feature from Teflon on it.
