Thats what this appears to be. I’ve been told it’s video from the weekend that Pimp passed. It’s from a Too Short performance at the House of Blues in LA, which is the last place Pimp was on stage with fellow labelmate Too Short. There’s nothing signifigant to note in the video, it appears to be just an average night and a good time on stage. Check out the video and RIP Pimp C, tomorrow is the day he’ll be laid to rest.
Its your boy Lil Flip who you know is always on top of freestyles, tracks and videos for the fans. Well he didnt waste anytime in doing a tribute song to Pimp C. No real title other than ‘RIP Pimp C’ and you can listen to it here right now. Too many homies dying young these days. So listen to the track and remember Pimp C and the others that have gone too young, way before it was time.
Here it is, it’s about what I expected. It will be a bit of time before the official cause of death is determined and speculation about it is disrespectful to his family and friends. There are plenty of posts on here where you can listen, watch or reminisce about Pimp and what he did for the southern rap game. So here’s the text, it’s the only official statement from his camp at the moment.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA - Manager Rick Martin, who was on hand this morning to identify the body of client and dear friend Chad Butler aka Pimp C, offers this statement regarding today’s tragic loss:
This morning saw the loss of a man that was not only a client, but a very dear friend at a time when he had the most to live for. He was my best friend and I will always love him.
Chad’s tragic passing leaves behind mourners the world over, including his mother, wife and children whom Chad loved more than anything. An official cause of death has yet to be determined.
I was so very proud of Chad and the growth he has shown since his release from prison; as an artist and business man and as a person. As one half of the legendary Texas group UGK, Chad was finally seeing the results of the years of love and labor that he and Bun B have put in over the years, culminating in the tremendous success of their album, Underground Kingz. Chad was set to soar with not only a new solo deal on Jive Records, but a lucrative publishing deal, a new satellite radio show, several group projects and a national cologne endorsement. Chad had everything to live for, making his unexpected passing a travesty.
Right now, my number one concern is the well being and livelihood of his family who are the ones most deeply affected by this loss. All efforts will be made to ensure that they are properly cared for in this tragic time and beyond.
As Chad’s friend and manager, and on behalf of his family and those closest to him, we ask that you, the press keep reports of his passing to tributes to his amazing contributions as an artist and wait for the facts surrounding his death to come to light. Please let us all remember Pimp C as the kind and warmhearted man and rap music pioneer that he was.
Do me a favor people and download this mixtape, its one of the better collections of Pimp C’s verses. Play it in your ride at least until the weekend is over. Represent for Pimp C and what he did for the south and southern rap music. What he stood for was the real shit, not fake game shit. Pimp was about coming together, getting money and building up not tearing down. Funny thing is I actually found a copy of this mixtape in my car and was listening to it all weekend while I was in Dallas. From front to back you can play it all the way through. Show your love for the man and what he made southern rap, download this bitch right now and burn it, share it and jam it all week and weekend. Play it loud in the ride and let others hear it, I know I will!
You know death is always an interesting time and usually depressing. A time to think back and remember, a time to think ahead and wonder what will be. It’s a time to put yourself into perspective as well. Pimp C was a true legend in the southern rap game, in the same way DJ Screw was. They both died far too young, they both changed the game and left a mark on it that will be remembered for quite some time to come.
What I’d like to do is share the memories and celebrate the life, for him, for his family and his friend. For the fans and those of us that meant him, if even only for a minute. There’s alot of death in this world and not enough celebration. Im going to post up quotes in here from artists and update this as is needed. I’ve got a few quotes to throw inside already from different people commenting on the situation. I’ve also uploaded a short video from the time I met Pimp. He performed at a small club in Tyler not so long after being released and had a moment in the show where he just wanted to speak on life and some serious things he thought about and wanted to share. Thats what this video is, I went out from the stage to try and get more in front instead of behind and recorded with a cellphone so its not that great, but it’s all I had with me at the time. Listen closely or a couple times if you need to because this is the real uncut shit you wont see on tv. It’s sad but true and we dont know the reasons why yet. But Pimp C has indeed passed away. I dont know what to say other than I found Pimp to be one of the realest of all the artists I’ve ever listened to and the one time I did meet him even if briefly he was real. I met up with my man Hezeleo in Tyler, TX not too long after Pimp had been released for a small show at a local hip hop club and I’ll always remember it.
What I noticed is that while the music was real, he was real behind it too. He stopped the show to speak seriously on some things about life and things that were on his heart. As we’ve seen recently Pimp had no problem speaking and always had something to say. RIP Chad, UGK and Texas hip hop won’t be the same.
Don’t look for rumors on this site because I dont really do them. So I wont speculate on what happened to Pimp and how he died. There should be an official statement later in the day, as I was told this morning. I dont expect it to cite reasons or specifics. So if you were a fan then do him and his family a favor and just give them your best and don’t spread the bullshit gossip that seems to circulate so freely around these hip hop websites. As always you can stay tuned to TrillSouth for real news, trill news and the truth.
I dont know what to say about this one or if it’s true yet. But the website TMZ.com is reporting that Pimp C was found dead in a Hollywood hotel room this morning. Here’s the text straight from their website.
Pimp C, real name Chad Butler — and one half of the rap duo UGK, was found dead in a hotel room this morning. He was 33.
L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, located on trendy Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They arrived to his sixth floor hotel room to find him dead in bed.
UGK is best known for appearing on the Jay-Z track “Big Pimpin’” in 2000, and more recently with Outkast on the song “International Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).”
Story developing …
I want to know whats up with this one because Pimp wasn’t known to use drugs. Was it a health thing or something more? I hate to speculate on rumors so we’ll just have to wait and see what is going on with this for real. Im making calls while we wait, and trying to find out news from someone close to him.
Update: I confirmed it now through making some phone calls and Pimp is really dead. Im not going to speculate on it any further, but it is true and hopefully we’ll have an official statement by the end of the day.
Damn it’s about time I got another album review up in this bitch and I’ve got a good one to be the first in a while. It’s the brand new off the underground and the streets of Mississippi and it’s presented by Pimp C and stamped with that UGK approval so you know it’s no joke.
I’m talking about an artist going by the name of XVII. For a minute now several songs have floated around the internet and most people had no idea where they were coming from. They featured Pimp C doing some serious talking about other rappers in the game and certain people who we don’t have to name. But there was another voice on these tracks and that you’ll now know was XVII. The latest in the UGK family and the protege of Pimp C, XVII has been on his grind for a minute now and this album is about to blow up in the south.
This album starts off with Pimp C doing a lot of talking and leads right into a hot track called Back 2 Da Streets and you already know what thats going to be about. Then it’s quickly followed by a track that you probably heard floating around the net called True Story. Yeah that’s the one where the rappers are addressed for their fake dope game numbers and stories. It’s called True Story because it’s filled with a true story, not the fake ones that the other industry rappers have been putting out and it’s one of the better tracks on the album. Read more
Yeah I’ve got that real good shit right here this time. It’s the real shit straight out of Port Arthur, Texas, so you know what that means. You generally don’t catch Pimp hopping on a bullshit track. So peep this real underground video straight from the streets and done by Mr Boomtown. You know he does some hot ass videos, it’s UGK 4 Life and Lone Star State! Shout out to Big Bubb on this one, he’s up in the video doing his thing.
Hit the comments up hard for this track and I’ll keep doing my best to get that fresh hot stuff that you havent seen yet.
Come on now lets start this little movement right here. Im looking for a Pimp C reality show on VH1. This weekend while watching tv I notice two more reality shows that will debut this October.
