So today I was browsing other hip hop sites and I stopped by SOHH to see what they were up and check out my old spot the Dirty blog. Well its apparently dead and just like it was during the time I created it and ran it, they dont give a fuck about southern hip hop at SOHH. They’re all about the rumors and gossip. It appears now weeks since they had a new post, but even when they had someone writing it was fairly rare and random and not very good. Usually long rants by some dude with an angry attitude and then followed by a WSHH video or two. But now its just some text links that lead to another site. RIP SOHH Dirty you died a long time ago but today is your funeral. Fuck SOHH and those losers running that shit too. Gossip and rumors are all youve got. If you visit another blog other than mine it should probably be Ozone.

Anyone check out SOHH lately, they’re getting pretty desperate and it appear as if they’ve gone into full meltdown mode basically becoming a site of rumors, and not even original rumors, but rumors pulled from other hip hop sites and then rehashed on their front page. Not to mention the site still has a placeholder suggesting that its a temporary site while they update SOHH, but thats been there for months now.
Tuning into SOHH today you’d find 14 articles or posts on the main page and 7 of them are rumors and gossip all by one person and nearly all of the stories appeared on other hip hop sites before SOHH. SOHH they dont even have original gossip or breaking news. This isnt what real hip hop is about, gossip, rumors, chain snatching, who’s sleeping with who is it? Seems they’ll do anything for pageviews kind of like the artists that sell out and do anything for money, so put on your shiny suit and sell yourself thats fine, we all need to get money, but you cant claim any to be above anything anymore when you’re on that bullshit tip.
SOHH Continues It’s Bullshit Streak, This Time Against Plies
Author: DigiPimp | Filed under: Opinion
So they strike again this Monday morning with a blog about Plies, check this out. Is this what amounts to good hip hop reporting from the site that tries to claim such high ground? They regularly suggest to their bloggers that it’s not alright to curse in their articles, and when they were attacked recently they played the race card out the gate. But it’s somehow alright to make death threat humor and post up gossip about bullshit that amounts to nothing.
YA HEARD BLOG: DOES PLIES HAVE A HIT OUT ON HIM? OR IS HE JUST ONE BIG SCARDY KAT?
Has Plies let his suedo-success go to his head? It looks like southern rapper thinks he’s the “Michael Jackson†of our time. Check out his alleged diva demands at a recent concert down in the ATL.
This is an email I got from a media source who attended Greg Streets 13th Anniversary Party concert at the Gwinnett Arena:
Streetz, What up?
I just had to put you on to this bitchass nicca Plies. I am in the bizz and I was in the backstage area taking photos of peeps when suddenly the security employees demanded that EVERYBODY clear the hallway. There was shouting and a slight panic to get the hallway completely empty. On the real I thought that Jay-Z was making a surprise appearance by how everyone was acting.
But come to find out it was just this nicca Plies. From what I was told, Plies demands to have a cleared walkway when performing at a venue. That’s some straight up bitchassness fo’ real. That nicca try to act hard like he’s from the streets, but he speaks better then most people. He also had a bodyguard and a two police officers standing guard while he performed.
Put that nicca on blast, yo! When everyone found out why we had to clear the area everybody clowned him hard.
These claims don’t shock me one bit. I’ve heard that Plies is definitely on some diva type sh*t. There are even people at his record label who refuse to work with him.
So there they go again, is that what they really are about over there at SOHH? If you didnt know you’ll soon find out, just keep reading.
SOHH Spreading Gossip Again This Time On Shawty Lo
Author: DigiPimp | Filed under: Opinion
Well you know it never stops with the people over at SOHH. They love the rumors and are never afraid to report some unconfirmed anonymous bullshit rumors that someone emails them and call it sources or whatever. Well this time the victim of their latest gossip is Shawty Lo. Here’s what SOHH Gyant has to say.
I hate to be barer of some reckless ish, however the person who gave me this information is held in high regard SOHH I feel comfortable going with it. Did Shawty Lo catch a beat down over the weekend at Club Crucial? Find out more below.
According to my source Carlos “Shawty Lo†Walker was chillin’ up in T.I.’s popular hood night club in Bankhead when someone came out the blue and came down on that ass. But to add insult to injury, not only did Shawty allegedly get his ass laid out he also got his chain snatched.
But wait; it gets worse. I also hear that there is a video surveillance tape that can verify this rumor. I’m gonna need the manager at Crucial to holla at me with that. Put it on youtube and let’s see what this is all about.
This rumor is starting to become somewhat of a broken record because a couple of weeks ago I had heard that Shawty had caught a beat down in Bowen homes. However, nobody could verify it and after reaching out to Carlos’ people I got a phone call from the bankhead rapper himself denying any incident occurred.
Could this simply be a bunch of peeps playing games at Shawty Lo’s expense, or has all that trash talking come back to bite homie in the ass.
Thats typical SOHH bullshit right there and from the same guy who posts up album leaks and bullshit on the regular. Now dont get me wrong, sometimes rumors and gossip are true and this may be true. But where is even a slight bit of integrity in reporting something that you have no evidence of or confirmed information about just to build your own ego and get pageviews? Is that really trill, is that what SOHH wants to really be about? The same people who cry wolf when they’re attacked spend half their time attacking others to build themselves.
You know with this round of hacking on SOHH and the response from Felicia Palmer we once again have the issue of race thrown into the mix. Im into hip hop and Im white, not that it matters but I am so I’ll throw that out there because I know for many of you it will slant what I say. But for many of you you’ll understand where Im coming from regardless of race.
Hip hop is huge these days, it’s everywhere now. It’s in commericals, even old hip hop slang is being used by people on Fox News or in the most un hip hop like places you can imagine. Kids are buying it, singles are blowing up and it’s more popular than ever. It’s more diverse than ever as well, maybe more diverse than most other genre’s of music at this point. Have many of us forgot what it’s about. I think the people at SOHH forgot what it was about. I learned that in my year of running their SOHH Dirty blog. I see alot of other places forgot what it was about as well. It’s now rumors, gossip, beef, cars, clothes and hoes. But hip hop was really about reality at it’s core. Hip hop wasnt black or white, it was the voice of reality straight from the streets like we had never heard it before. Hip hop spoke to you in a way that you could understand and it brought us closer regardless of race.
So with that said thats why I hate to see race constantly injected into everything. We all know it’s there and we all know it’s a difference, but its only one of many. We’re all different in so many ways short but so much time is given to this one small difference. As I’ve grown I’ve decided that I dont give a shit about changing the haters, let them hate. If they dont like you for color, clothes, or anything else fuck them and move on. Lets let hip hop do what it does and speak to those of that are listening and can change and can make a difference. In fact the more we talk about race the further we get from coming together. Lets talk about real shit like economics and opportunity, for those of us that have and those who dont. Lets talk about the shit that really matters instead of trying to change the minds of those who dont matter.
My hip hop elevates the game, it doesnt further the stereotypes or seperate. Fuck a hater, fuck a racist, fuck all of those people who stand in the way of that. Felicia Palmer could have better spoke about hacking, but she’s blinded by the seperation and the slight differences. When she said this
It appears that hackers are specifically targeting Black, Hispanic, Asian and Jewish youth who ascribe to hip hop culture.
She lost the way and the path of real hip hop and what its really about. Are there not White kids on SOHH non stop? Since when were they going out of their way to embrace Jewish people on SOHH any more than anyone else. She threw out the keywords to continue the bullshit rather than bring it together. You got targeted maybe because you were SOHH full of yourselves. Thats not real hip hop. She might as well have said some George Bush bullshit like they hate us for our freedom, its the same thing. Now show me that you’re real hip hop and you can feel me, or show me that you’re part of the bullshit and tell me I dont understand because Im white.
Here is the official statement from Felicia Palmer and I’ll translate it and tell you what it really means.
As many of you are already aware, SOHH.com has been under attack by hackers this week. We noticed the first wave of attacks in our vBulletins forums and as of this morning the whole site was compromised.
It appears that hackers are specifically targeting Black, Hispanic, Asian and Jewish youth who ascribe to hip hop culture. Other websites, including AllHipHop and Da Piff forums, have also been compromised or threatened this week.We are managing this situation on several fronts. We have taken down the server to patch the security breach and put in protections for future attacks. Also, as this is an international issue, it is being addressed by The FBI and the Strategic Alliance Cyber Crime Working Group.
We realize the hackers attacked SOHH.com because of our stature in the hip hop space and the people we serve. Unfortunately, we did a poor job of protecting SOHH.com from imminent threats from people who hate our community simply because of our racial and ethnic makeup.
This has brought to light our vulnerabilities and those of the internet publisher and users as a whole. What’s possible now is for us to join together to identify and eliminate this threat.
If you are under attack and have any information about these attacks please submit a report to the FBI cyber crimes unit here: https://complaint.ic3.gov/
Alright lets break this down. SOHH was not targeted because the people who go there were black. I can’t say that 100% but anyone with a clue knows that. These guys target anyone who taunts them and if the SOHH users had been any other race that would have been used against them. It didnt matter what they were. They likely got targeted because like thousands of other internet forums they’re full of E-Thugs who talk tough on the computer. I dont advocate any of this, Im just telling you the truth.
Felicia says they did a poor job of protecting SOHH. Well the site is still down today so that means this is much worse than they’re saying. I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt have a backup of their database and they’re in real trouble trying to get almost anything back up and running. It can happen to anyone on the net, but its hilarious to watch half of this hip hop community run around claiming this is racism and that all of hip hop is being targeted. SOHH sorry.
It’s odd that SOHH isnt back up at this point. I know they must have been putting in some serious work trying to get it fixed. Maybe it’s worse than we all thought it might be. Most of the time when a site gets hacked it’s back up within a few hours. That is assuming that you’ve got your database backed up regularly and a good server company that you can contact and inform them of the problems.
I’ll tell you I worked at SOHH for about a year running the Dirty blog from the start until the end of April. It was a constant battle of bullshit with them over there. They always seemed more interested in spreading gossip and rumors to get page views over real hip hop. In the end they let me go with zero notice. I was sent an email on the last day of the month told that I was no longer needed. But I could have guessed it was coming at some point because there were always problems with their clueless methods of running things.
It was always one thing or another. Write a hot headline just to get pageviews. Dont use YouTube videos while other bloggers throw up videos from every other site out there. Dont link to your own site even though the contract you signed said you can continue your own site and it was agreed to that I could link to it everyday in every post if I chose to. Dont do this, dont do that. All of that drama for a small amount of money, but the experience taught me a lot. I knew alot about what to expect in the beginning. TrillSouth is a real site, SOHH is full of gossip and rumors and stories copied from other places, sometimes cut and pasted with slight changes. So I hate to see anyone hacked the way they have been because it could happen to any of us at anytime and it’s truly a huge headache. But in a way I cant help but think this is the way of Karma. SOHH fuck’em!
So it’s late Thursday night, technically Friday morning and I head over to SOHH.com to peep some of the latest stories and see if they’ve got a lead on anything that I haven’t seen yet. Well what I do I see? It appears that SOHH has been hacked and is still currently hacked as the cute little SOHH workers are sleeping. Should be an interesting Friday for them. I got a few screenshots of what the site looks like currently and it’s not a pretty thing. Check them out I made a nice pretty little gallery. As much as I dislike the people running SOHH, I hate to see this happen because it can happen to any of us on the net. Enjoy the gallery, I know I am! It’s all still up as of 4:15 central time when I post this.
Update 8:30 AM Central: SOHH is down now and the site doesnt load at all now, I would assume the problems are being worked on.
So it finally hit me this weekend and I’ve written something small about it to go up on SOHH Dirty on Monday. I was hit by the Hurricane and by that I mean Hurricane Chris and his latest single The Hand Clap. While I was out I had to hear this song at least 3 times and it caught my attention the very first time I heard it. The lyrics were just horrible, the song content was worse than horrible and I dont know if that was possible. The beat wasnt good and the song was just garbage and I dont normally like to be so negative about something. But are people really buying and listening to this? Is this what its really come down to, songs like this from Hurricane, Soulja Boy, D4L or whoever the latest flavor of the month is. As you read earlier on this site courtesy of the HoustonPress, the Ozone awards were even slipping and not giving much respect to real hip hop in the south.
It’s as though it’s all one big fake show now of posters and shamless promotion of trash. Rap without real content, consequences and nothing but fantasy. Non stop parties and songs made by fake drug dealers and fake thugs who got all their tats and gangsta after they had a hit. I just had to rant a little bit and it hit me when I heard the lyrics to The Hand Clap include “row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.” Yeah that’s a direct lyric quote from the song, what the fuck is this shit coming to!
