I know a few of you think Im new to this shit but you just dont have a clue about me yet. Well my true TrillSouth people have been around for more than a minute and will remember a lot of the shit I’ve been on. I never played the bullshit cook kid games or liked to be around the red carpet. I wanted to be where it really happened, in the streets, the crowd and with the people. That brings me to a throwback video I shot back in the day of Trae doing a live performance of ‘Swang’ the track he did with Pimp C. You can see him show the fans who he really is and get down in the middle, no security and no bullshit happened. Trae is just now starting to get a little more nationwide coverage and it’s only getting bigger. Enjoy the video.

Uh oh it looks like Trae is starting to get a little more attention to his work and efforts to move the south forward with a message. This time it’s ThisIs50 sitting down with the man to speak on his motivation, music and community service.

I think people outside of Texas are still underestimating Trae the Truth and if you havent seen some of his latest videos and work you might be doing the same. The man is making moves and crossing over the typical hip hop genre lines and showing that music is bigger and so is he. This time it’s the ‘Im Fresh’ video with a real rock and hip hop feel mixed together. I think you’ll like this so watch and listen.

Houston’s Trae Tha Truth has once again teamed up with the infamous super-producer, Mr. Lee and come up with a banging lead single for Trae’s upcoming solo effort, Tha Truth, expected in stores on February 16th, 2010 through ABN Entertainment/Fontana/Universal. The single, Something Real, features Plies, Slim Thug, Brian Angel (Day 26) and Jodeci. I got the track for you so sit back, turn the volume up and enjoy this shit!

Houston, TX – Last year, on July 22nd, Houston rap history was made as native rap artist, Trae Tha Truth, was honored by his city with the reading of a Proclamation declaring that day “Trae Day”; the first time this honor was given to a rap artist. The honor was bestowed upon Trae for his constant and selfless work within the communities of Houston, focusing on at-risk youth. The ceremony was followed by a free family Block Party, replete with members of Houston City Council alongside a host of local music celebrities and was attended by some 10,000 people, who braved sweltering temperatures in the high 90’s to congratulate Trae and line up for the free school supplies he had provided.

This coming Wednesday, July 22nd, from 3-9PM, history will repeat itself as Trae and friends take over the parking lot of TSU Stadium for the biggest daytime party to hit the South Side. Trae will be joined by US Congresswoman, Sheila Jackson Lee and Members of Council Peter Brown and Ron Green, as well as a host of music celebrities from far and wide including Bun B, Rick Ross, Gorilla Zoe, Mannie Fresh, Yung Joc, Hurricane Chris, Shawty Lo, Slim Thug, Blood Raw & USDA, J Dawg, Rich Boy, GS Boys, Rocko, Jayton and the whole ABN group, Ron Artest, Von Wafer and Herculeez and Big Tyme. The day will include a great roster of family activities with live performances, train rides, pony rides, face painting and moonwalks and will also offer an HIV/STD testing site and free school supplies while they last.

Check out the homie Dougie D who was in Guerilla Maab back in the day with Trae and he’s got a new video for the ‘Boss Mac Swag’ track. I think you’re going to like the look of this one and probably the song as well. It features appearances from Trae & Lil Boss, but there are plenty of others to look at in the video so enjoy.

How about a real trailer for some real music and a hot new video thats about to drop. This is got that throwback feel from the days of DJ Screw and the grey tapes that you used to throw in your deck while you were riding. This ‘Grey Cassette’ track features Bun B and Lil Keke along with Trae so you know its got that true Texas feel to it. I’ll let you just watch and enjoy and we’ll talk about it later.
