It’s the first single off what is possibly the last UGK album ever. It’s brand new on the net and fresh in the streets right now, Im talking about ‘Hard As Hell’ featuring Akon. It’s always good to hear new UGK shit and Im not sure what to expect from this near final release. Almost anything Pimp C spits is classic to me and this track has a little of that but I sure dont like the sound of the whole thing with Akon. It’s just not UGK to me, Im just too old school still. I need some of that old style Texas shit, it’s crazy. But you be the judge of this track. It’s UGK and it’s TrillSouth together again!

You know I’ll tell you after listening to this track a few times I dont like it all. That disappoints me like crazy to think that there would be new UGK and I just can’t feel it. Am I the only one that feels that way about this track?

That will be the story tomorrow and its definitely true. UGK has won tonight at the BET awards in both categories they were nominated for. Unfortunately this praise is too late and well overdue. UGK wins tonight for Best Group and Video Of the Year. I wont admit to supporting the BET awards because they are every bit as fake and bullshit as virtually every other award show. I just wanted to post this to let everyone know it happened, we’ll get deeper into thoughts and feelings in the coming day or two. But congratulations to UGK, one of the best rap groups ever!

You know I write SOHH Dirty and I keep the two sites pretty seperate but today Im posting about something that I was really happy to see, so Im putting it up on both spots at the same time this time. It’s Bun B returning to the stage with many of the Houston heavyweights and rap community at his back. Check this out as I wrote today and follow inside to see the video clip of Bun speaking the morning of the show on the local news.

It’s been a minute now and Bun B is back after a little grieving and grinding. This Friday he took the stage with the support of the Houston hip hop community and plenty of heavyweights in the game to celebrate Pimp C and continue the UGK legacy. So first a little clip that SOHH Gyant pointed out to me from a local Houston station where they spoke with Bun the day of the show and he spoke on a few things.

that was real shit that Bun had to say and later that night the show went down without a problem. Heavyweights in the house like J Prince, ESG, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, UGK Records, Pimp C’s mother, and too many others to name. Well the official news is finally in. It’s no longer natural causes but instead been called “accidental.” So you might wonder how is it an accident. It appears that as many of us Pimp had a condition called Sleep Apnea which makes it difficult for someone to breathe while sleeping and often causes the stoppage of breathing for short moments while someone sleeps and or has difficulty sleeping. This condition affects many people so you might or probably already have heard of it in the past. This coupled with some high levels of codeine in his system, although the coroner doesn’t say from what, caused the death. Codeine slows your system and this with his condition appears to have caused an accidental death.

So you know last year Ozone Magazine started up a Chronicles of Pimp C article in which the Pimp would share his views and opinions on all kinds of things. Good info for people trying to get in the biz or just opinions about shit going on in the game. Well unfortunately we all know Pimp passed and this page here is the last of his articles submitted to Ozone and I thought you all might want to check it out.

I found this recent video on MTV News where Bun B is talking about life after Pimp C. He’s busy in the studio right now trying to put in work on his second solo release and Im sure it wont be without content remembering Pimp. Im already saying this album is going to be a must buy, so listen to the clip and let the world know what you think. RIP Pimp.

Well I already knew this from the start, or at least I was pretty sure and I knew Pimp wasn’t one to get into all of those things that they talked about in the rumors. The coroner is saying cause of death will be determined still in a few weeks but has gone ahead and ruled out foul play as a possibility. That’s good to know and it also should tell you what you already should know. We never know how much time we have here and its all a big crap shoot. Play it to win and play it for keeps, treat people good and get what you deserve while you’re out there, and appreciate those you have and be serious about your time. Anyway RIP C, the game won’t forget.

Unlike other places Im not going to post up any Pimp C funeral videos to promote my site and get mad views. I want to remember the life of the man and how he influenced us all in this game today. But with that said Pimp was put to rest today in Port Arthur and here’s a little article I found covering the story that seems to cover it fairly well and will let you know how things went down today. Thats what this appears to be. I’ve been told it’s video from the weekend that Pimp passed. It’s from a Too Short performance at the House of Blues in LA, which is the last place Pimp was on stage with fellow labelmate Too Short. There’s nothing signifigant to note in the video, it appears to be just an average night and a good time on stage. Check out the video and RIP Pimp C, tomorrow is the day he’ll be laid to rest.

Here it is, it’s about what I expected. It will be a bit of time before the official cause of death is determined and speculation about it is disrespectful to his family and friends. There are plenty of posts on here where you can listen, watch or reminisce about Pimp and what he did for the southern rap game. So here’s the text, it’s the only official statement from his camp at the moment.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA – Manager Rick Martin, who was on hand this morning to identify the body of client and dear friend Chad Butler aka Pimp C, offers this statement regarding today’s tragic loss:

This morning saw the loss of a man that was not only a client, but a very dear friend at a time when he had the most to live for. He was my best friend and I will always love him.

Chad’s tragic passing leaves behind mourners the world over, including his mother, wife and children whom Chad loved more than anything. An official cause of death has yet to be determined.

I was so very proud of Chad and the growth he has shown since his release from prison; as an artist and business man and as a person. As one half of the legendary Texas group UGK, Chad was finally seeing the results of the years of love and labor that he and Bun B have put in over the years, culminating in the tremendous success of their album, Underground Kingz. Chad was set to soar with not only a new solo deal on Jive Records, but a lucrative publishing deal, a new satellite radio show, several group projects and a national cologne endorsement. Chad had everything to live for, making his unexpected passing a travesty.

Right now, my number one concern is the well being and livelihood of his family who are the ones most deeply affected by this loss. All efforts will be made to ensure that they are properly cared for in this tragic time and beyond.

As Chad’s friend and manager, and on behalf of his family and those closest to him, we ask that you, the press keep reports of his passing to tributes to his amazing contributions as an artist and wait for the facts surrounding his death to come to light. Please let us all remember Pimp C as the kind and warmhearted man and rap music pioneer that he was.
